Is garlic a promising food for prostate cancer??

Prostate cancer is a type of cancer in the prostate, a gland in the male reproductive system, located below the bladder and in front of the rectum.

Most cancers of prostate are growing slow, whereas some grow relatively quickly. 

The cancer cells may spread from prostate gland to other areas of the body, particularly the lymph nodes and bones.

Can garlic combat with the cancer of prostate and assist in preventing??

Studies suggest garlic and garlic supplements provide protection against cancer. These cancer effects are thought to be attributable.

Allicin, consequently, is a compound, formed in garlic, when chopped or crushed. Additionally, garlic is full of vitamin C.

A population based case control analysis conducted in Shanghai, China, found that men who ate over 10 grams of Allium veggies, particularly garlic and scallions, daily were 50% less likely to get cancer of the prostate than people, who ate just a bit of garlic.

The risk of cancer of the prostate related to garlic ingestion was independent of body size, total calorie intake, and consumption of foods.

This study appeared in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute’s November, 2002 version.

In another event control study, a group from researchers from Oxford asked 328 men diagnosed with cancer of the prostate before the age of 75 along with 328 controls to provide details from their dietary routines.

The controls were matched for age. Garlic along with garlic supplements, along with a few different foods like beans, peas, were found to have a protective effect from cancer of the prostate.  

This study was published in the well-known British Journal of Cancer in 1997.

Nevertheless, not all the event control studies support the theory that garlic helps reduce the potential risk of cancer of the prostate.

A large 2006 study that examined dietary data from a number from Italian along with Swiss event control studies found a significant association between high garlic intake and a decreased risk from several cancers, but not from cancer of the prostate.

The scientists accountable for this analysis believe that in case of cancer of the prostate, hormonal factors might play a bigger role in the evolution of the disease than dietary factors.

Conclusion

Some studies suggest that garlic may indeed assist in preventing and fight cancer of the prostate.

Whilst other studies imply that garlic doesn’t have a significant protective effect against cancer of the prostate.

Nevertheless, there are many studies which show that a diet rich in garlic is good for your state of health and vitality.

And, consuming garlic on a regular basis can reduce the potential risk of different types of cancer such as stomach, mouth along with throat, kidney, colorectal cancers.
