CAN GARLIC COMBAT WITH THE CANCER OF PROSTATE AND ASSIST IN PREVENTING?

The risk of cancer of the prostate related to garlic ingestion was independent of body size, total calorie intake, and consumption of foods. This study appeared in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute’s November, 2002 version.
In another event control study, a group from researchers from Oxford asked 328 men diagnosed with cancer of the prostate before the age of 75 along with 328 controls to provide details from their dietary routines. The controls were matched for age. Garlic along with garlic supplements, along with a few different foods like beans, peas, were found to have a protective effect from cancer of the prostate. This study was published in the well-known British Journal of Cancer in 1997.

Nevertheless, not all the event control studies support the theory that garlic helps reduce the potential risk of cancer of the prostate. A large 2006 study that examined dietary data from a number from Italian along with Swiss event control studies found a significant association between high garlic intake and a decreased risk from several cancers, but not from cancer of the prostate.
