Sexually transmitted diseases are also known as STDs.

STDs are infections that you can get from having sex with someone who has the infection.

STDs include chlamydia, gonorrhea, HPV, HIV/AIDS,  syphilis, and trichomoniasis, among others.

Many STDs don’t have symptoms, which is why it’s so important to get tested regularly.

But some STDs can cause symptoms like burning during urination, unusual discharge, or sores on the genitals.

STDs are caused by bacteria, viruses, and parasites that are passed from person to person during sexual contact.

Use latex condoms every time you have sexual intercourse.
