Legionnaires’ disease, also called legionellosis, is an infection caused by Legionella bacteria.

It causes symptoms that range from mild to severe, and can lead to death in extreme cases.

A person can become infected with Legionella bacteria after breathing in small droplets of water that contain legionella.

The source of these airborne droplets can be water vapor from cooling towers, hot tubs, fountains & air-conditioning units.

Legionnaires' disease symptoms include fever, cough, difficulty breathing, muscle aches, headaches, loss of appetite, chills or sweats, confusion & pneumonia.
